Unite with us to strengthen our schools!

As parents and taxpayers, you have a vested stake in the quality of education the children of our community receive. While we often focus on success in the classroom, there is something more you can do to ensure success for the next generation: make sure our local school board is fighting for our kids' education!

District 279 United is a group of concerned parents and community members who support:

  • Neighborhood schools
  • Fiscal responsibility with district finances
  • Community partnership in school district strategy and key decisions

2008 Goals

  • District 279 United will endorse and support three candidates for the District 279 school board elections to be held on November 4, 2008.
  • District 279 United will monitor the school board meetings and keep the community apprised of important information.

Stay Informed

Join a team! We can use your help! For District 279 United to be successful, we need involvement from concerned parents and community members from across District 279. There are many ways you can get involved without a large commitment of time. Please contact a Team Lead.

Spread the word! One of our first challenges is getting the word out about this newly formed organization. Please talk to other parents, grandparents and concerned citizens/taxpayers throughout the communities encompassing District 279 about the mission of District 279 United and the need for broad community involvement. Business cards with the District279United.com Web site will be available at meetings.

For web site questions, concerns or contributions, please contact Derek and Nancy.
